Greek Week Overview

Greek Week Incorporated is a non-profit philanthropic 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to raise monetary support for national and local charitable organizations through cultivating leadership, service, and community within the University of Michigan campus and the greater Ann Arbor area.  Greek Week incorporated also aims to promote diversity and understanding through partnerships with campus and community organizations.

Greek Week as we know it today at the University of Michigan began in 1978.  What began as a fraternity singing competition has evolved into an event uniting all four Greek councils. Over a nine to ten day period each spring fraternities and sororities are randomly assigned to teams who complete in variety of events.   Daily events include such things as the twister, can castle building, tug-o-war and volleyball. Students give back to the community through the annual blood drive and service day activities. Greek Week culminates with the big Sing & Variety show at Hill Auditorium.
